Jersey Mikes A Sub Above WAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist's Laura Acuna and Grand Canyon's Jazmine Scott have been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the meet week ending on Sunday, March 23.

Sophomore Acuna excelled at UCLA's 2025 Bob Larsen Meet. She posted a time of 4:20.89 in the 1500m, securing the third fastest time in the program's history and improving her personal best by nearly 12 seconds. This performance ranks her 10th in the NCAA for the 1500m and first in the WAC. Acuna also showed strength in the 800m, currently holding third place in the WAC standings.

Scott had an impressive showing at the 2025 Willie Williams Classic. She excelled in the triple jump with a mark of 12.42m, which earned her a second-place finish. This mark places her 28th in the NCAA rankings and at the top of the WAC for the triple jump. Scott achieved eighth place at the Classic in the long jump and is ranked eighth in the WAC.
