ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Luke Iverson and Grand Canyon’s Isaac Lyon have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, March 30.

Iverson, a junior catcher/outfielder, led the way for Utah Valley in a 3-1 week that featured a nonconference win at Portland and a series triumph over Abilene Christian. Iverson batted .438 with three home runs, 11 RBIs, a 1.188 slugging percentage and seven runs scored. Iverson reached safely four times in the 11-2 win at Portland on March 24, clubbing a home run while driving in three runs and scoring three times. Iverson homered in the first two games against ACU on March 28-29, finishing with three RBIs in game one and four RBIs and three runs scored in the second contest.

Lyon, a junior right-handed pitcher, earned his second conference weekly honor of 2025 with a sensational start in a 10-0 GCU win over Seattle U on March 28. Lyon tossed eight innings of four-hit baseball, walking two while hitting one batter and striking out eight Redhawks on 99 pitches to pick up the victory.
