FIVE STRAIGHT WINS FOR ACU
Abilene Christian has enjoyed a hot start to the month of March, extending its streak to five consecutive nonconference victories to improve to 8-5 on the young season entering games on March 7. The Wildcats swept a four-game series at home against Arkansas - Pine Bluff before besting Wichita State 11-9 on March 5 at Globe Life Field, home of the 2023 World Series champion Texas Rangers.
WHITE TEARS THE COVER OFF FOR SAC STATE

Tyler White was named WAC Player of the Week on March 3 following a weekend series against South Dakota State where he batted .471 with two home runs, 11 RBIs and five runs scored over four games. White opened the series with three hits and five RBIs and added a second homer and drove in four runs in the finale for the Hornets.
LYON SUPERB FOR GCU IN SHUTOUT VICTORY
Grand Canyon right-handed pitcher
Isaac Lyon came up clutch for the Lopes during his start in a 4-0 shutout of Texas State on Feb. 28. Lyon allowed five hits over six innings, walking two batters and striking out 12 Texas State batters on 98 pitches to pick up the win. Lyon’s 12 punchouts were the most strikeouts by a WAC pitcher in a single games thus far this season.
SEATTLE U WOULD NOT BE DENIED AT GONZAGA
Seattle U continued its recent surge with an impressive comeback at Gonzaga on March 5, capturing a 10-8 road win in Spokane. The Redhawks trailed 6-2 entering the top of the eighth before a
Sam Kane grand slam tied the game at 6-all. After Gonzaga re-took an 8-6 lead into the ninth inning, Seattle U responded with four runs in the top of the frame that were capped by a game-winning two-run homer off the bat of
Vicente Feliciano.
MONTH TO REMEMBER FOR SAC STATE’S BROWN
Preseason all-conference relief pitcher
Kade Brown from Sacramento State turned in a sensational month of February as a key to the 7-5 start for the Hornets. Brown made four relief appearances and earned four saves, striking out 18 batters over 11.2 innings pitched while limiting opposing hitters to a .079 batting average against. Brown’s 0.77 ERA included only one solo home run allowed in the 43 batters he faced during the season’s opening month.
