Jersey Mikes A Sub Above WAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State's Victoria Cameron and Southern Utah's Ajia Hughes have been named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for the meet week ending on Sunday, March 30.

Cameron made a significant impact at the Texas Relays held at Mike A. Myers Stadium, setting a new Tarleton State all-conditions record in the 100m, clocking an impressive time of 11.09, which not only earned her a bronze medal but also ranked her first in the WAC and fourth in the NCAA. Her weekend performance also included setting a new school record during the Friday prelims with a time of 11.36 and then surpassing this mark in the finals under non-legal wind conditions.

Hughes excelled at the UVU Collegiate Invitational, showcasing her skills in the high jump and long jump. Hughes dominated the high jump with a leap of 5'9.5" (1.76m), placing her first in the WAC and 23rd in the NCAA. She also achieved a second-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 19'0.25" (5.80m), ranking fourth in the WAC for the event.
