ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Hunter Katschke and Sacramento State’s Kade Brown have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Saturday, April 19.

Katschke, a senior outfielder, helped lead Utah Tech to a series victory against first place Grand Canyon. Katschke batted .417 with two doubles, two home runs, six RBIs and a 1.083 slugging percentage. Katschke went 2-for-4 with a crucial seventh inning two-run double in a 6-5 win for Utah Tech on April 17 before clubbing two home runs and driving in four in a 9-1 series clinching triumph over GCU on April 19.

Brown, a redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher, picked up a pair of saves after closing both wins of a series victory against California Baptist. Brown allowed one hit over four full innings of work, walking none and striking out six batters on 56 pitches. Brown worked the final two frames and allowed one hit while punching out four in a 3-0 win over CBU on April 17. Brown entered with the tying run on deck and spun two spotless innings with two strikeouts in a 6-2 victory to take the series on April 19.
