ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Eddy Pelc and California Baptist’s Ryan Kittredge have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, May 11.

Pelc, a graduate outfielder, was a force for GCU in a 3-1 week that included a home win over Arizona and a series victory at Stanford in nonconference play. Pelc batted .579 with two home runs, nine RBIs, three stolen bases, a 1.000 slugging percentage and four runs scored for the week. Pelc went 3-for-5 in each of the three games at Stanford, belting a home run and driving in two runs in a 10-6 win on May 10 before clubbing another home run, logging six RBIs and scoring three runs against the Cardinal in a wild 16-15 setback in extra innings on May 11.

Kittredge, a junior right-handed pitcher, earned his second weekly conference honor of the season following a strong start for CBU in a 4-2 victory at Seattle U on May 10. Kittredge allowed one hit over five shutout innings, walking three and striking out three on 93 pitches to help the Lancers clinch a second straight conference series.
