2025 University Credit Union WAC Softball Tournament Central
ARLINGTON, Texas – The three-time defending champion Grand Canyon Lopes have secured the top seed for the 2025 University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Softball Tournament that will take place on May 7-10, hosted by California Baptist at John C. Funk Stadium in Riverside, California.
Grand Canyon concluded the 2025 regular season winning its second consecutive WAC regular season title with a 21-2 conference record and a 43-6 overall record. The Lopes will enter the postseason on a 20-game winning streak which is the longest active winning streak in NCAA Division I softball. Grand Canyon has earned two crucial byes into the quarterfinal round of play and will take on the winner of No. 4 Seattle and the winner of game 2 on Thursday, May 8 at 1 p.m. PT.
Tarleton State has locked the second two-round bye into the quarterfinal round as the No. 2 seed with an overall record of 34-20 (16-8 WAC). The Texans will play the winner of No. 3 Southern Utah and the winner of game 1 on Thursday, May 8 at 10 a.m. PT.
The tournament will kick off on Wednesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. PT with the single elimination round of No. 6 California Baptist and No. 7 UT Arlington followed by No. 5 Abilene Christian and No. 8 Utah Valley at 1 p.m. PT.
The double elimination rounds will begin at 4 p.m. PT on Wednesday where the winner of CBU and UTA will match up with match up with No. 3 Southern Utah. No. 4 Seattle U will await the winner of ACU and UVU at 7 p.m. PT.
The championship game of the 2025 University Credit Union WAC Softball Tournament is set for May 10 at 1 p.m. PT, with the ‘if necessary’ game 13 to follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of game 12. All games will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
