ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Marie Quentel, Abilene Christian’s Katy Gregson and Bella Medrano have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Soccer Offensive Player, Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 15.

Quentel, a senior midfielder, tallied three points in Utah Valley’s 4-3 comeback win at Weber State, scoring once and adding an assist. Quentel cut the Wildcats’ lead to 3-2 in the 64^th minute with a left-footed strike inside the right post. Four minutes later, she assisted the Wolverine equalizer with a corner kick. Quentel gave UVU the spark needed to erase two separate two-goal deficits to earn the road win.
 
Gregson, a junior defender, played two full 90-minute matches for Abilene Christian last week including a 1-0 shutout victory over Northwestern State where she helped anchor the Wildcat back line that held the Demons to just two shots on goal. Gregson and the Wildcats have collected four shutouts this year, tied for the second most in the WAC.
 
Medrano, a freshman goalkeeper, tallied 11 saves in two matches for ACU last week. Medrano picked up her third clean sheet of the year with a shutout victory over Northwestern State where she recorded two saves. Medrano then tallied nine saves in a road matchup versus Baylor, tied for the third most saves in a game in the WAC. The freshman currently ranks second in the conference in save percentage (.886) and goals against average (0.63).
