UACFOOTBALL -- It's another college football Saturday that includes all nine members of the United Athletic Conference (UAC) hitting the competition field. After last Saturday's single game league opener, this week's ledger features a pair of conference clashes along with three other contests pitting UAC squads against nationally-ranked FCS opponents.
NOTEWORTHY
- In the latest FCS National Rankings, the UAC saw six different squads earning votes with four teams landing in a single Top 25 list for the second week in a row... Tarleton State maintained the UAC's highest ranking by locking down the No. 3 spot in both polls (AFCA and StatsPerform)... Abilene Christian had its name listed No. 14 (StatsPerform) and No. 15 (AFCA) while Austin Peay was also ranked in both polls (18th StatsPerform/ 20th AFCA). After remaining undefeated on the season, West Georgia moved up to a No. 22-ranking by StatsPerform and was the top team receiving votes not in the poll for AFCA. Central Arkansas and EKU were the other league programs garnering votes in this week's polls

No. 3 Tarleton State (4-0) returns home to compete for a fifth straight week as Chattanooga travels to Stephenville for a Saturday night shootout
- For a third consecutive season the UAC had a member squad compete in Week 0 on national television as No. 8/10 Tarleton State blanked Portland State, 42-0, on ESPN2. The win marked the first shutout performance for an FCS team in Week 0 history... The league owns a 2-2 mark in Week 0 play
- Heading into the 2025 season, UAC lineups include a trio of players listed on national award watch lists with Tarleton State QB Victor Gabalis named to the Walter Payton Award list along with a pair of defensive standouts, Lando Brown of Southern Utah and Abilene Christian's Will Shaffer, part of the Buck Buchanan Award list... Gabalis (Offensive) and Shaffer (Defensive) were tabbed the preseason Player of the Year choices by the conference coaches.
