ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Dorcas Jepkosgei has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the competition week ending on Friday, Sept. 5.

Jepkosgei, a freshman, was impressive in her collegiate debut during the Gerald Richey UTA Invitational 3.12 mile race also featuring Abilene Christian and Tarleton State on Sept. 5. Jepkosgei finished as the individual meet runner-up with a time of 16:43.5 (average mile 5:21.7), one of two Mavericks in the top five, to guide UTA to a third-place team showing.
