ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Valley’s Alex Hartshorn and Andrew Turner have been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, Jan. 11.
 
Hartshorn, a sophomore, won the men’s one-mile run at the 2026 Weber State Invitational with an altitude-converted time of 3:59.72, currently the 11^th best mile time in the country. Hartshorn set a Utah Valley record with the program’s first indoor sub-four-minute mile, making him the owner of the school’s indoor and outdoor mile records.
 
Turner, a junior, set a new personal record in the weight throw at 17.13 meters to finish fourth overall among collegiate competitors at the 2026 Weber State Invitational.
