ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Erin Woodson and UT Arlington’s Kira Reynolds have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Jan. 18.
 
Woodson, a junior guard, led Abilene Christian to a pair of wins over the top two teams in the WAC standings, California Baptist and Southern Utah, averaging 19.5 points per game and seven rebounds on 48.0 percent shooting from the field (12-of-25). Woodson matched her career-high of 23 points on the road at California Baptist and followed with 16 points at home versus the Thunderbirds. Woodson was perfect from the charity line last week, making all 11 attempts in the two games. Woodson has recorded double-digit scoring in 17-of-19 games this season, notching at least seven points in every game.
 
Reynolds, a freshman forward, collected her second consecutive, and fourth overall, WAC Newcomer of the Week honor following a pair of UT Arlington victories where she nearly averaged a double-double last week with 12.5 points and a WAC-high 9.5 rebounds. Reynolds notched her sixth double-double of the season in the victory over Utah Valley as she scored 16 points and grabbed 13 boards. Reynolds tallied six blocks last week, helping herself stay tied for third nationally in blocks per game with 3.00 blocks.
