ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Emilia Mandl and Sophia Allen have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, Jan. 18.
 
Mandl, a junior, won the 800-meter race in her first meet of the 2026 indoor season at the Arkansas Invitational with a time of 2:09.23. Mandl holds the fastest 800-meter time in the WAC this season by over two seconds and ranks 34^th in the nation.
 
Allen, a junior, claimed fourth place in the Arkansas Invitational pole vault with a mark of 3.75 meters, currently ranked as the best mark in the conference.
