ARLINGTON, Texas – California Baptist’s Lauren Olsen has been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Dec. 21.
 
Olsen, a freshman guard, led California Baptist to a 3-0 start in conference play, posting at least 20 points in all three games. Olsen’s 21.0 points per game was the most in the first week of WAC play as she shot 55.8 percent from the field and made nine 3-pointers on 17 attempts (52.9 percent) including a 4-of-4 3-point display against Tarleton State on Saturday. Olsen now has six 20-point games this season, tied for the most in the conference.
