JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Austin Peay’s
Denver Harper grabbed his second national award of the season after being named the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced Monday.
Harper, a redshirt freshman, amassed 227 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns in Austin Peay’s 42-17 win over New Haven. The redshirt freshman opened his scoring with a 10-yard receiving touchdown before scoring twice on special teams - one off a punt for an 82-yard scoring return and a kick-six, the first in the program’s history, to become the first Gov with two special teams touchdowns in one game.
