Governors, Texans Ranked in Top 10 of Stats Perform FCS National Poll

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The United Athletic Conference (UAC) has placed two teams in the top-10 of the most recent Stats Perform FCS Top-25 poll, it was announced Monday.

Following a dominating 56-21 win over Chicago State, Tarleton State moved up to No. 3 in the polls. The Texans, who are one of just five teams who are still undefeated in FCS this season, have been a staple in the top-five of the polls for the 2026 season. They will go up against Austin Peay this weekend in the UAC’s first top-10 matchup in conference history.

Austin Peay broke into the top-10 for the first time this season, coming in at No. 9 in the polls. The Govs, whose only loss of the season came to Vanderbilt in Week One, have been a commanding force against opponents, averaging 37.0 points per game while allowing just over 16.0 points per game. APSU rolled to a 42-17 win over New Haven this past weekend and will host No. 3 Tarleton State on Saturday.

West Florida (52), Abilene Christian (7) and North Alabama (2) all received votes.

About the United Athletic Conference

The United Athletic Conference (UAC) was established in 2023 as a single-sport football conference through a partnership between the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) and the former Western Athletic Conference. In 2026, the ASUN and UAC formed Unisun Sports to further strengthen the conference, which now features eight football-playing member institutions: Abilene Christian University (Abilene, Texas), Austin Peay State University (Clarksville, Tenn.), the University of Central Arkansas (Conway, Ark.), Eastern Kentucky University (Richmond, Ky.), the University of North Alabama (Florence, Ala.), Tarleton State University (Stephenville, Texas), the University of West Georgia (Carrollton, Ga.) and the University of West Florida (Pensacola, Fla.).
