ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s
Dorcas Jepkosgei and
Eliza Lemberga have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, for the competition week ending on Sunday, Feb. 8.
Jepkosgei, a freshman, captured first place in the Charlie Thomas Invitational 3,000-meter run with a UTA record-breaking time of 9:35.26. Jepkosgei checked in at fourth in the WAC’s performance list this season in the event.
Lemberga, a junior, placed fourth in the Charlie Thomas Invitational pentathlon with a personal-best score of 4,052 points. Her point total currently ranks 16
th best in the nation and best overall in the WAC. Lemberga finished inside the top-10 in all five events of the pentathlon, highlighted by a second-place finish in the 800-meters with a time of 2:13.14.
