2026 WAC SB Release - Week 3

HOLLINGSWORTH’S PERFECT GAME CAPS OFF FIVE-WIN WEEK FOR CBU
California Baptist is entering the week on a five-game winning streak that was capped off with Annika Hollingsworth throwing a perfect game on Tuesday in a 9-0 victory over Hawaii. Hollingsworth tossed five perfect innings against the Rainbow Wahine in her first start of the season, retiring all 15 batters faced in the mercy-rule win with just 44 pitches. Five of CBU’s eight victories so far have come in shutout fashion and in the Lancers’ last four victories, CBU has outscored the opposition 32-1.

TARLETON STATE’S STRONG OFFENSE STARTS THE YEAR WITH NINE STRAIGHT WINS
Tarleton State began the 2026 campaign with nine straight victories before falling in the second game of the double-header against Stephen F. Austin. The Texans have kept their foot on the gas offensively as the team is ranked top-10 nationally in total runs (3rd, 108), scoring (4th, 10.8), RBIs per game (4th, 9.8), batting average (5th, .400), on base percentage (5th, .507), walks (7th, 54), hits (8th, 110), and triples (8th, 6). Macie Vickers was named WAC Player of the Week after recording a batting average of .438 while totaling 10 RBIs and three runs scored last week.

SOUTHERN UTAH TURNING THE TIDE
After beginning the season with five straight losses against quality opponents, Southern Utah has flipped the script and has won five of its last six games. The Thunderbirds are coming off a successful weekend in the Torpedo Classic where the T-Birds went 3-1, collecting a win against San Diego and sweeping the two contests against Boise State. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Southern Utah, as the T-Birds travel to Tempe, Arizona to take on No. 21 Arizona State along with a couple of matchups with Michigan (RV).

WAC STAT LEADERS
Tarleton State holds the two best batting averages in the WAC, led by Hayden Fox’s .600 (15-for-25) batting average. Fox also leads the league in on base percentage (.730), runs scored (20) and walks (8). Her Texan teammates Macie Vickers and Mikayla Wilson have recorded the most RBIs with 16 and 15, respectively. UT Arlington’s Mia McNulty has complied the most total bases (32) with her league leading five home runs.
