ARLINGTON, Texas – Abilene Christian’s Payton Hull and Tarleton State’s Elodie Lutbert have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Basketball Player and Newcomer of the Week, for the game week ending on Sunday, Feb. 8.
 
Hull, a junior guard, averaged 24.7 points across three games last week and made over half of her attempts with 55.8 percent shooting from the floor (24-of-43). Hull posted the two highest-scoring games in the WAC last week with 27 points against Tarleton State and 28 points versus Utah Valley, the most points in a conference game since her freshman season in 2023-24. Hull continues to lead the WAC in overall scoring (17.9/game) and holds the most 20-point games in the league with 10 on the season.
 
Lutbert, a freshman center, posted back-to-back double-doubles against the top two teams in the WAC standings: 16 points and 13 rebounds versus Abilene Christian and 15 points and 13 boards versus California Baptist. Lutbert also knocked down the go-ahead jumper with 55 seconds left against Southern Utah, helping the Texans overcome an 18-point deficit for the win over the Thunderbirds.
