NOTABLES
  • UAC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Chris Parson had a cool 308-yard passing day with two scores, one on his own on the ground, en route to the Govs season-opening win over Gardner-Webb.
  • The Argos, a 19.5-point underdog going up against #16 Southern Illinois in their Division I debut, pulled off a historical upset with a 34-31 win over the Salukis. Ty’Ray Davis had a monster game for West Florida with 109 yards in the air and 109 on the ground to account for three of the team’s four touchdowns in the game.
  • Central Arkansas took down #23 UT Martin after a 471-yard performance on offense and a game-high 16 tackles from linebacker Ashtyn Williams.
  • Xavier Johnson had a breakout performance in North Alabama’s 22-10 victory over Samford. The redshirt freshman put the Lions on the board in the first quarter on a 95-yard catch, a new school record, en route to his five catch, 129-yard performance Saturday night.
  • EKU’s Tyler Travers finished his collegiate debut going 22-for-34 in the air for 305 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Tylan Hines barreled through the Prairie View A&M defense with 184 yards on the ground on 25 attempts and two scores for the Texans. Hines added in two catches for 21 yards to finish with 205 total yards.
