West Florida Named Stats Perform FCS National Team of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of West Florida football team has been named the Stats Perform FCS National Team of the Week, it was announced Monday.

The Argos made a name for themselves Thursday night in their Division I debut against No. 16 Southern Illinois. Coming in as a 19.5-point underdog, West Florida stunned the football world with a 34-31 win over the Salukis. 

Head coach Kaleb Nobles’ crew shined on both sides of the ball with 335 yards of offense while the defense picked off three SIU passes for 140 total return yards and one score.

West Florida will start UAC play this weekend when it travels to Conway, Ark. to take on Central Arkansas on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
