NOTABLES
- Chris Parson went 12-for-15 for 260 yards and three scores to move up to seventh place all-time at Austin Peay in both career passing yards (3,687) and touchdowns (28). Denver Harper racked up 196 all-purpose yards on just six touches to headline a 49-point first half. Defense dominated for the Govs, giving up just 98 total yards through the final three quarters and recording 11 tackles for loss.
- EKU started its home slate with a win after Brayden Latham ran in the go-ahead touchdown with 3:48 left to play. Junior Brady Hensley broke free for a highlight-reel-worthy 96-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
- The Central Arkansas Bears won big as Jalen Washington rushed for 202 yards, good for an average of 16.8 yards per carry. The Bears’ defense dazzled with four interceptions by three different defenders.
- Back-to-back UAC Freshman of the Week Xavier Johnson continued to shine for North Alabama with eight catches for 175 receiving yards. Sophomore Tae Martin led all defenders with 11 total tackles.
- Alejandro De La Poza walked it off with a game-winning field goal to secure Tarleton State’s second consecutive 3-0 start.
