ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Max Bengtsson has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golfer of the Month for October 2023.
 
Bengtsson, a sophomore, captured solo medalist honors representing the third-place Texans at the Monterrey Collegiate Classic on Oct. 27-28 at Club Campestre Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Bengtsson earned a one-shot victory with rounds of 70-66-65=201 to finish 15-under-par on the par-72, 7,141-yard track. Bengtsson bested the field stroke average by nearly six shots in the second round and by over seven shots in the final round and was the tournament leader with 22 birdies over 54 holes.
