Paige Reagor, Grand Canyon’s
Klaire Mitchell and Utah Valley’s
Lani Matavao have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the week, for the match week ending on Monday, Aug. 28.
Reagor, a senior middle blocker, was named the MVP of the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic hosted by Air Force after leading UTA to a 3-0 record behind 33 kills, a .459 hitting percentage and 15 blocks. In UTA’s season opener against Bryant, Reagor had 13 kills on a .458 hitting clip, while adding seven blocks.
Mitchell, a graduate student setter, earned Wake Forest Invitational All-Tournament recognition after recording 104 assists, 10.40 assists per set, 27 digs, six aces and five blocks. Mitchell notched her first double-double of the season in a 3-0 win over Toledo with 39 assists and 11 digs.
Matavao, a freshman libero, made her collegiate debut with a strong defensive showing of 63 digs, 4.85 digs per set, 11 assists, while adding two aces. Matavao had 20 digs in a dominant 3-1 win over Utah who was receiving votes in the AVCA/TARAFLEX poll.
