ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Brianna Ford, UTRGV’s Luanna Emiliano and Stephen F. Austin’s Haley Hoang have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Setter and Libero of the week, for the match week ending on Monday, Sept. 4.
 
Ford, a senior outside hitter, led UT Arlington to a perfect weekend tying for the third-best start (6-0) in the program’s history that included sweeps over Incarnate Word, Presbyterian and Louisiana Tech. Ford earned UTA Classic MVP recognition after totaling 40 kills (5.71/set) while hitting .305 and added 25 digs (3.57/set), four blocks (0.57/set) and three aces (0.43/set). In the opener against Incarnate Word, Ford exploded for 22 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and an ace. It was her fifth career outing with 20 plus kills and her 27th career double-double. Following that, she totaled four kills, a .375 hitting percentage and three digs over just one set against Presbyterian. She concluded the weekend with 14 kills, nine digs and a .256 hitting percentage in the finale against Louisiana Tech.
 
Emiliano, a junior setter, recorded 117 assists through three matches this weekend, notching 10.64 assists per set as she ran an efficient offense. She notched a double-double in a 3-2 loss at Houston Christian, with season-highs with 54 assists and 14 digs to go with four aces. Emiliano is averaging 9.86 assists per set through six matches and has 12 aces.
 
Hoang, a senior libero, recorded 62 digs (5.64 d/s) and 10 assists this past weekend in the first Stephen F. Austin Tournament. Hoang is ranked second in the conference with 4.86 digs per set and in total digs with 103. Hoang also had three aces in the match against Southern Mississippi. She leads the team in digs and is tied for second in service aces.
