ARLINGTON, Texas – UT Arlington’s Brianna Ford, Utah Valley’s Evalyn Chism, and Utah Tech’s Mya Laufiso have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Setter, and Libero of the week, for the match week ending on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
 
Ford, a graduate outside hitter, claimed her third player of the week honor following another two-sweep week for UT Arlington. In the six sets, Ford totaled 29 kills (4.83/set), 31 digs, seven blocks, five aces, and averaged 6.25 points per set. Ford also tallied double-doubles in both matches as she recorded 12 kills and 19 digs against Seattle U and 17 kills and 12 digs against Abilene Christian. Ford continues to lead the WAC in kills per set (4.57) and points per set (5.42), both ranking inside the top 15 nationally.
 
Chism, a sophomore setter, won her fourth setter of the week honor as she hit 1,000 career assists in Utah Valley’s victory against Tarleton State. In UVU’s 2-0 week, Chism was a threat both offensively and defensively on the court recording 82 assists (10.25/set), 28 digs, 11 kills, seven blocks, two aces, and two double-doubles. Chism set a career-high of 17 digs against the Texans and tied her career-high of six kills against Seattle U.
 
Laufiso, a sophomore setter, totaled 41 digs (5.96/set) last week, including a career-high of 26 digs against Grand Canyon. Laufiso added a team-leading 15 digs in Utah Tech’s win over California Baptist and served an ace in each match on the week.
