ARLINGTON, Texas – Utah Tech’s Kennedi Knudsen, UT Arlington’s Mollie Blank and Grand Canyon’s Mykenna Nelson have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Setter, and Libero of the Week, for the match week ending on Tuesday, Nov. 5.  

Knudsen, a junior outside hitter, picked up her second straight player of the week honor after a Utah Tech single match program record 34 kills in UTU’s win over Utah Valley, the most individual kills in a match in the WAC this year. Knudsen picked up 18 additional kills in the sweep against Seattle U to total 52 kills in eight sets (6.5/set). Knudsen limited her errors as she accumulated a .407 hitting percentage this week. She also collected 11 digs, five block assists, four aces, and two assists to average 7.31 points per set. 

Blank, a graduate setter, took her third consecutive weekly setter honor following a near triple-double performance against California Baptist. Blank recorded 43 assists, 16 digs, and nine kills in UTA’s victory over the Lancers. Blank tallied 70 assists overall this week (10.0/set) along with 24 digs, 11 kills, two blocks, one ace, a .550 hitting percentage, and contributed to a .304 team hitting percentage. 

Nelson, a graduate libero, helped lead Grand Canyon to a double sweep week as she collected 39 digs (6.5/set) and seven assists in six sets. The 21 digs in the sweep against Tarleton State was a season-high for digs in a three-set match for Nelson.
