ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Max Bengtsson has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men’s Golfer of the Week for the tournament week ending on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
 
Bengtsson, a sophomore, was the solo runner-up at the Bentwater Intercollegiate at Bentwater Country Club in Montgomery on Feb. 12-13, in a field that featured three other WAC foes. Bengtsson registered rounds of 72-67-69 to finish at 5-under-par 208 on the par-71, 6,788-yard layout, one of only five players in the 81-man field to post a total at even-par or better. Bengtsson owned the best scoring average on par-4 holes (3.85, -4) and tied for second among all players with 14 total birdies during the event.
