UT Arlington, Cronje In The Lead Following Day 1 Of 2024 WAC Men’s Golf Championship

2024 WAC Men's Golf Championship Round 1 Results

PAYSON, Ariz.
– UT Arlington staked claim to a two-stroke team lead on Friday following the opening round of the 2024 WAC Men’s Golf Championship at Chapparal Pines.
 
The Mavericks combined to shoot a team 2-over-par 290 after 18 holes to lead Grand Canyon (292) by two shots and Utah Valley (293) by three shots following a challenging opening round on the 6,947-yard, par-72 layout. Tarleton State checked in fourth at 7-over 295, with Seattle U rounding out the top five at 11-over 299.
 
Daniel Cronje powered the UT Arlington attack with an impressive 4-under round of 68 to lead Seattle U’s Kevin Li by one (69). The only other players to shoot under par during the first round were Grand Canyon’s Nicky Kling and Gavin O’Neill after matching round of 2-under 70, and Utah Valley’s Ethan Efford and Dane Huddleston who carded 1-under rounds of 71.
