ARLINGTON, Texas – Tarleton State’s Allison Bryant and Emma Halcomb and Abilene Christian’s Madeline Guffy have been named the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Volleyball Player, Libero, and Setter of the week, for the match week ending on Tuesday, Sept. 24.
 
Bryant, a senior outside hitter, was named the Tarleton State Invitational MVP where she led the Texans to a 3-0 tournament and a 4-0 week. Bryant’s week consisted of 62 kills (3.65/set), 48 digs (2.82/set), six blocks, five aces, a .268 hitting percentage, and 4.15 points per set. She recorded double-doubles against Oral Roberts where she tallied 22 kills and a career-high 23 digs and against ULM where she totaled 13 kills and 11 digs. This was Bryant’s second and third double-double in her last five matches. Bryant is currently fourth in the WAC in kills per set with 3.67.
 
Guffy, a senior setter, helped Abilene Christian to a 2-0 week defeating Alabama A&M and Oral Roberts in their Wildcat Classic. Guffy finished the week with 80 assists (10/set), two aces, and a block. Guffy recorded a season-high of 50 assists against Oral Roberts and added 10 digs for a double-double. Guffy sits fifth in the WAC in assists per set with 7.14.
 
Halcomb, a senior defensive specialist, played a big role in Tarleton State’s 4-0 week by accumulating 65 digs (3.82/set), 22 assists, and three aces. Halcomb totaled double-digit digs in three out of four matches including a career-high 26 digs against ULM. She also tied her season-high of six assists in three of this week’s matches. Halcomb leads the WAC with 3.88 digs per set.
