JACKSONVILLE, Fla., - The United Athletic Conference (UAC) highlights the Volleyball upcoming competition for the week of September 22.
Abilene Christian enters conference play on a three-match winning streak after sweeping the Wildcat Classic and have won seven of its last eight matches. The Wildcats will hit the road for their first week of league play and will battle with North Alabama on Thursday and West Georgia on Saturday.
The Govs are winners in four of their last five, including sweeps in their last two matches. Austin Peay will also begin its first two league matches as the away team, heading to Arkansas for contests against Little Rock on Thursday and UCA on Saturday.
Central Arkansas turns its attention to UAC competition following a tough non-conference schedule as the Bears will host EKU on Thursday and Austin Peay on Saturday.
EKU finished with the best non-conference record in the UAC at 10-2 and heads into the new week with a five-match winning streak. The Colonels will join Austin Peay on the Arkansas road trip as EKU will square off with UCA on Thursday and Little Rock on Saturday.
Little Rock will begin UAC play with their first pair of home matches of the season as the Trojans look to return to the win column. Little Rock will host the Govs on Thursday and EKU on Saturday.
North Alabama concluded non-conference competition with a 10-3 record, the second-best in the UAC. The Lions will begin conference play at home versus ACU on Thursday in a fight between two of the top teams in the league, then will head to Stephenville on Saturday for a match with the Texans.
Tarleton State will play in the first UAC match of the season as they host UTA for a stand-alone match on Tuesday. Following the match with the Mavs, the Texans will host UNA on Saturday.
The Mavericks are coming off a 2-1 weekend at the Ragin' Cajuns Classic and will head across Texas to Stephenville for one road match on Tuesday before returning home for three straight home contests beginning with West Georgia on Thursday.
Similar to UTA, West Georgia will begin conference play with one road match, at UTA on Thursday, followed by three home matches beginning with Abilene Christian on Saturday.
