JACKSONVILLE, Fla., - The United Athletic Conference (UAC) highlights the Volleyball upcoming competition for the week of September 15.
Abilene Christian claimed two of this week's UAC Volleyball Weekly Awards as the Wildcats have won four of their last five matchups, with the one loss coming at Oklahoma.
Hannah Gonzalez earned Player of the Week honors and
Brennan Ramirez was named the Defensive Player of the Week. ACU will host its Wildcat Classic/Alumni Weekend with matchups against Louisiana Tech, Prairie View A&M and Stephen F. Austin.
Austin Peay host four matches this week highlighted by the Governors Classic where the Govs will take on Gardner-Webb and SIUE on Friday and Southern Illinois on Saturday.
The Bears' continue to battle through the sixth-ranked toughest schedule among NCAA DI Volleyball and will head to Iowa to play in the Kwik Star Klassic. Central Arkansas is looking to grab it's first win of the season against either West Florida, Texas Tech or Iowa.
EKU is coming off a 2-1 weekend against three opponents that were ranked inside the top-50 RPI at the end of the 2025 campaign with wins against James Madison and Western Kentucky. The Colonels now turn their attention to their first four of home games of the season starting with Marshall on Tuesday and followed by the Geri Polvine Invitational on the weekend where they'll take on Presbyterian College, Tennessee Tech and Appalachian State.
Little Rock will conclude its non-conference slate on the road where they will take on Southeast Missouri State for a midweek matchup then head to Tennessee for the Memphis Tiger Tournament to battle with Southern Miss and Memphis.
After becoming the first team in the nation to begin the 2026 season with a perfect 10-0 record, North Alabama finally suffered their first loss of the year at Florida State on Monday. The Lions were the only team in NCAA DI to begin this year with 24 consecutive set wins, as UNA won their first eight matches with a sweep. The Lions will look to head into conference play on a new winning-streak as UNA heads to Lynchburg, Virginia for a double-header with Liberty.
The Texans enter the new week after a 2-1 weekend at the Tarleton State Invitational where they picked up wins over Sam Houston and Denver. Tarleton State will head to Lubbock on Tuesday for a midweek matchup against Texas Tech, followed by the UNT Invitational to take on UNT, East Texas A&M and West Virginia starting on Thursday.
UT Arlington is looking to build some momentum this weekend at the Ragin' Cajuns Classic where the Mavericks will square off with Jackson State, Louisiana Lafayette and Mississippi State.
West Georgia's
Brooke McCall was tabbed the UAC Freshman of the Week after leading the Wolves to a 2-1 weekend at the UWG Volleyball Classic where they defeated Gardner-Webb and New Orleans. The Wolves now turn their attention to UT Martin's Skyhawk Classic where West Georiga will play one against Arkansas - Pine Bluff and a pair against the Skyhawks.
