JACKSONVILLE, Fla., - The United Athletic Conference (UAC) highlights the Women's Soccer upcoming competition for the week of September 16.

Abilene Christian's defense has been near lights-out to begin the 2026 campaign, allowing only four total goals throughout their first seven matches and collecting four shutouts in their last five matches. The Wildcats have also taken the last three UAC Defensive Player of the Week honors with Audrey Coppinger claiming this week's award. Goalkeeper Bella Medrano leads the conference in goals against average (0.58) and save percentage (.905). ACU looks to keep its stellar defense rolling with a pair of home matches this week against Sam Houston on Thursday and Texas Southern on Saturday.

Last Thursday, Austin Peay snapped a 27-game winless streak after defeating UT Martin 1-0 at home for the Govs' first win since October 20, 2024. Megan Waskiewicz was tabbed the UAC Goalkeeper of the Week after notching seven saves in the match to preserve their first shutout fn the year. The Govs will head to Jackson, Mississippi to battle with Jackson State for a Friday road match. 

Central Arkansas looks to return to a .500 winning percentage on Sunday as the Bears conclude their non-conference schedule with a Sunday matchup at Southeast Missouri State.

The Colonels have one final non-conference matchup this Thursday at home versus Xavier who has yet to win a match on the road this season. EKU has scored at least one goal in six of their last seven contests, with two goals in each of its last two matches. 

The Trojans will hit the road and make their way back to the pitch on Saturday following a two-week hiatus to take on Kansas City as Little Rock looks to return back to the win column.

North Alabama enters a bye week and will prepare for league play beginning on Thursday, September 24.  

Tarleton State is riding on a four-game unbeaten streak and notched its first win of the season last Friday with a 4-0 victory at Prairie View A&M. Jessica Baires was named the UAC Player of the Week after she tallied a goal with two assists in the match against the Panthers. The Texans will wrap up their non-conference slate on Thursday as they host Texas Southern.

West Georgia will also turn its attention to conference competition that kicks off next Thursday.
